Mental Health Rehab and Treatment Programs at FHE Health
In 2025, adults in Broward County were hospitalized for mental disorders at a rate of 1,136 per 100,000 people, higher than the statewide rate of 964.7, according to Florida Health CHARTS. When a mental health condition begins to affect your ability to work, maintain relationships, sleep, concentrate or manage everyday responsibilities, it can be hard to know what kind of help you need.
At FHE Health, we provide mental health rehab in Florida for adults with a wide range of psychiatric conditions. Our dedicated mental health program, Restore Mental Health, serves adults whose mental illness is a primary condition, whether it occurs on its own or alongside substance use. Here, you’re not placed on a predetermined treatment path simply because of your diagnosis. We look at the full picture and build care around what you need to move forward.
- Nearly 1 in 4 American adults (23.4%) had a mental illness in 2024, and only 52.1% of them received any mental health treatment
- Restore Mental Health is FHE Health’s dedicated program for adults whose primary need is mental health care
- Care spans residential treatment, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient, adjusted as your needs change
- We treat depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, schizophrenia, OCD, personality disorders and more
- Co-occurring substance use is treated within the same coordinated plan
- Neuroscience-based services include qEEG brain mapping, TMS and neurofeedback when clinically appropriate
A Full Continuum of Mental Health Care and Support
Mental health needs change. The right level of care should change with them.
FHE Health provides a full continuum of care so you can receive intensive support when you need it and transition to greater independence as you stabilize.
Residential Mental Health Treatment
If symptoms are interfering with daily life or you need more structure to stabilize, residential mental health treatment provides 24-hour support in a structured setting. Many people search for this level of care as “inpatient mental health,” though it’s clinically described as residential care in a voluntary, non-locked setting.
Treatment includes psychiatric oversight, medication management, individual and group therapy, family services and other interventions selected for your clinical needs.
Because you are living within the treatment environment, your care team has more opportunities to understand how you are doing, respond to changes and adjust treatment as needed.
Partial Hospitalization Program
Partial hospitalization, or PHP, provides intensive daytime treatment without 24-hour residential care.
PHP often serves as the next step after residential treatment or as a starting point for people who need substantial clinical support but are stable enough to step down from 24-hour care.
Intensive Outpatient Program
Intensive outpatient treatment, or IOP, provides structured clinical support with more flexibility in your daily life.
IOP is appropriate for people who are stable enough to live more independently but need more than traditional weekly therapy. It also gives you continued support as you begin putting new skills into practice outside a higher level of care.
Treatment is not always a straight line. If you need more support at some point, that does not erase the progress you have made. FHE Health adjusts your level of care according to what makes clinical sense at each stage.

When More Support Makes Sense
According to SAMHSA’s 2024 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 23.4% of U.S. adults (61.5 million) had a mental illness in the past year. Only 52.1% of them received any mental health treatment.
It may be time for a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation if you have noticed persistent changes in your mood, behavior, thinking or ability to function.
Signs that additional support could be appropriate include:
- Persistent sadness, anxiety, irritability or emotional instability
- Significant changes in sleep, appetite, energy or concentration
- Increasing difficulty managing work, school, relationships or daily responsibilities
- Panic attacks or anxiety that interferes with everyday life
- Intrusive memories, avoidance, hypervigilance or other trauma-related symptoms
- Significant mood swings or unusually elevated, agitated or impulsive behavior
- Hallucinations, delusions, disorganized thinking or major changes in perception
- Using alcohol or drugs to cope with psychiatric symptoms
- Symptoms that have continued despite therapy or medication
- Difficulty managing psychiatric medications or side effects
Thoughts of self-harm, suicidal behavior, psychosis or an inability to remain safe require immediate help. Call 911 or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline in an emergency.
You do not need to determine the right program before asking for help. A comprehensive evaluation helps us understand what is happening and determine the level of treatment that fits your situation.

Mental Health Conditions We Treat at FHE Health
Mental health conditions look different from one person to another. Your symptoms, treatment history, physical health, relationships, environment and response to previous care all shape treatment.
FHE Health provides care for a range of psychiatric conditions, including:
Depression
Depression affects far more than mood. It can change your sleep, appetite, energy, concentration, relationships, motivation and ability to handle everyday responsibilities.
Depression treatment combines psychotherapy, psychiatric care, medication management and other services based on your symptoms and treatment history.
Anxiety Disorders
Anxiety becomes especially disruptive when persistent worry, panic, fear or avoidance starts controlling daily life.
Our anxiety treatment incorporates psychotherapy, psychiatric care, medication management and practical strategies for managing symptoms.
Bipolar Disorder
Bipolar disorder causes shifts in mood and energy that affect sleep, judgment, relationships and daily functioning. Bipolar disorder treatment combines psychiatric care, medication management, psychotherapy and continued support.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
PTSD can develop after trauma and lead to intrusive memories, nightmares, avoidance, emotional distress and hypervigilance.
FHE Health offers PTSD treatment tailored to your history and symptoms, including trauma-focused approaches such as EMDR.
Research continues to support its role in trauma care. A recent review of 16 randomized controlled trials involving 1,031 adults found that EMDR significantly reduced PTSD symptoms compared with waitlist or usual-care conditions.
ADHD, Schizophrenia, OCD and Personality Disorders
FHE Health also provides specialized care for:
- ADHD, including psychiatric care, skills development, medication management and treatment for co-occurring concerns
- Schizophrenia, with ongoing psychiatric oversight, medication management, psychotherapy and functional support
- OCD, with psychotherapy, psychiatric care and medication management to address obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors
- Personality disorders, with treatment focused on emotional regulation, relationships, behavior patterns, skills development and co-occurring conditions
Co-Occurring Mental Health and Substance Use Treatment
Mental health conditions and substance use often overlap. According to SAMHSA’s 2024 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, about 21.2 million U.S. adults (8.1%) had both a mental illness and a substance use disorder in the past year. Alcohol or drugs may become a way to cope with depression, anxiety, trauma or other symptoms, while substance use can also intensify psychiatric symptoms.
Treating only one side of that equation leaves an important part of the picture unresolved.
FHE Health’s co-occurring disorders program treats both conditions within one coordinated plan. Psychiatric care, psychotherapy, medication management, substance use treatment, family involvement and other services work together rather than operating in separate systems.
Recent research supports that model. An umbrella review of 30 systematic reviews found that integrated treatment for people with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders produced better mental health outcomes than usual care or uncoordinated parallel services, although outcomes varied across studies.
Advanced Psychiatric Care and NeuroRehab Services
For some people, therapy and medication alone do not provide enough symptom relief. FHE Health offers onsite psychiatric care along with neuroscience-based services that give your treatment team additional ways to understand what is happening and respond to it.
Our NeuroRehab services include:
These services are integrated into your broader treatment plan when clinically appropriate. They do not replace psychiatric care or psychotherapy.
TMS is one example. For people with treatment-resistant depression, a 2024 meta-analysis of five randomized controlled trials involving 507 participants found that 45.3% of those receiving active deep TMS responded to treatment, compared with 24.2% in the control groups.
This combination of psychiatric treatment, therapy and neuroscience is one of the ways FHE Health approaches complex mental health concerns from multiple angles.
Specialized Mental Health Treatment Programs
Your treatment should reflect more than your diagnosis. Your experiences, responsibilities, environment and history matter too.
FHE Health organizes care into specialized treatment communities that allow clinicians to develop deeper expertise while helping you connect with people facing similar challenges.
Restore Mental Health Program
Restore Mental Health is FHE Health’s dedicated program for adults whose primary need is psychiatric or behavioral health treatment. The treatment approach described on this page is the care you receive through Restore.
You do not need an addiction diagnosis to participate. Restore treats depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, trauma-related conditions and other mental health concerns through coordinated psychiatric and clinical care.
Shatterproof FHE Health for First Responders
Shatterproof FHE Health provides specialized treatment for first responders, including those whose primary mental health needs bring them to care.
Police officers, firefighters, EMS professionals, dispatchers and corrections officers often carry experiences that are difficult to explain in a general treatment setting. Shatterproof FHE Health uses a peer-support model of care that brings together trauma-focused treatment, psychiatric care, neuroscience services and clinicians who understand the pressures of the job.
That specialized environment is a meaningful part of treatment, not simply a separate track with a different name. Veterans and military members can learn about our military and veteran programming.
Family Involvement and Aftercare
When appropriate and authorized by the patient, family members may participate in treatment or planning. Family programming can help loved ones understand symptoms, communicate supportively and recognize warning signs.
Discharge recommendations may include outpatient therapy, psychiatric appointments or a step-down program. Continuing care helps patients practice what they learned while responding to new challenges.

- Onsite psychiatric and clinical teams working together throughout treatment
- NeuroRehab services, including qEEG brain mapping, neurofeedback, neurostimulation and TMS
- Specialized treatment communities, including Restore Mental Health and Shatterproof FHE Health

Instead of sending each part of your care in a different direction, FHE Health brings medical, psychiatric, clinical and neuroscience services together within one treatment system.
